Random Disconnected Wires!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Random Disconnected Wires!

Post by Garthy »

The joys of 406 ownership continue - this car is keeping me on my toes!

I parked the car on a hill the and turned the wheels into the kerb. When I got out of the car I noticed a disconnected lead, possibly purple in colour (it's dark-ish outside!), in the wheel arch. I could see both ends of tthe disconnected lead, and on inspecting the other side found that to be the same too.

Didn't want to hang about outside to investigate further as it hasn't stopped raining all day... anyone got any ideas as to what they are/do?! I haven't noticed anything not working so can only suppose they've been disconnected from when I bought the car!

I'll get round to buying a Haynes one day

if it's a peugeot wire, there should be a number printed on it. You can try to look the number up on the pay-for area of http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com to find out what it is

The only wires under the front wheel arch I can think of are for the pad wear sensors.

Should be inside the arch liners.

We'll soon know anyway, once Garthy gets his torch and brolly going :cheesy:

That's just the one pair of wires for the pump ain't it, you wouldn't have anything on the passenger side
