Dipped beam
This car is pissing me off recently! Turned on car this morning. Only one dipped light working (left hand side). Got to work. Took the bulb out but looked fine. Ha d aspare so I slotted it in to check. Still no go. Wiring (at bulb end) is secure and nothing has changed recently. Any clues?!

Re: Dipped beam
Fuse!
(According to my pristine and unmarked Haynes, your dipped beam warning light is on the same fuse.)

Re: Dipped beam
Fuse looked fine so I switched it to the lefthand light to test it and it worked fine, but still no go from the righthand light. So it's definitely not the fuse!

My thoughts exactly! Worst thing is that I have a 370 mile journey ahead of me tomorrow evening/night...

370 miles pretending to be a bike...
Moving on, I've just been looking at Haynes, the headlight diagram doesn't feature the BSI but I know mine comes off of it because I have automatic headlamps (totally pointless here as I must have my headlamps on all the time anyway
) Maybe yours doesn't, it should make things slightly easier.
Do you have a positive feed at the fuse?

Re: Dipped beam
You could jury rig it temporarily...
Splice into the positive feed on the working dipped light, chop the existing +ve feed on the faulty one to isolate it from the circuit and join it to your temp feed. In fact it may be worth splicing the negative as well in case there is a break in the wiring on the headlamp loom.

Re: Dipped beam
You may also have corrosion in the plug, that hadn't occurred to me!
Stick a multimeter across the contacts and see if there's any voltage; if there isn't, connect the -ve lead of your meter to the -ve of the working light or the battery & try again.
