Another Immobiliser Problem

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Another Immobiliser Problem

Post by sozuak »

Hello to everyone,

Yesterday I bought a ne battery and installed it. I drove for 20 mins and parked for 1 hour then go back to home. Everything was working well. Engine was starting quickly. This morning I tried to start it but only crank is turning no starting. Battery (on it has a gauge to check its charge) is ok. I tried at least 50 times and tried to disconnect battery for an half hour, Connected another battery etc. One or two times I saw a message " immobiliser fault" for a moment but it is not showing any message at all. Battery and engine (shaped) warning lights keep on ( also braking - hand break released position). Is there any idea what is the problem. The car is 10/2002 406 SV 2.0 BVA with Auto Gearbox (al4).

I got it. Fuel pump was faulty. After a small operation it is working fine now. Thanks :(

Occasionally I get the key lamp & `immobiliser defective` message- what`s that about. I have to take out the key & try again.
