Immobilliser Query

wheni put the key in the ignition, then light is red, after entering the code the green light comes on. So both lights are on. nothing happens, i can enter any 4 digit numbers and same thing will happen. can someone please help me, i have lost my manual. i NEED URGENT HELP. thanks.

try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes?

Silly question, has the code been working and just suddenly started failing?
You only get both lights if you enter the wrong code. Disconnecting the battery will reset the system; I discovered this myself when I forgot the code on my old LX :oops:
1996 406 1.8LX Got a bad case of hydro lock!
1996 406 Executive 2.0 Turbo XU10J2TE No longer hangin' on in there :(
1997 Honda CB500V
2003 Volvo V40 1.8 GDi SE killed by a nutter in a beemer 5 series
2008 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Titanium X

i disconnect the battery for about 2 hours, still did the same thing, i got the same result by entering any 4 digits. i am really stuck,please help.thanks.

If you have lost the code, a replacement ECU may be required. The whole point of the keypad is to stop TWOCing.

Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

So you're definitely putting the correct code in which has worked in the past?
Also, has the keypad been changed? This is coded to the ECU.

yeah, the code worked before this problem occured. so i really dont know, oh yeah where would the ecu be????

Open the bonnet and it's under the black plastic cover to your left next to the washer fluid and coolant reservoirs

Eprom reader. There was a thread on another forum dealing with lesser pugs and shitrons that talked about doing a dump of the eprom and burning the content to change keypads.
