Newbys dodgy blower.
Hello everyone, just joined and was wondering if you could help me out. i have a 406 Estate whos heater fan only works when it feels like it and also the indicators work but dont click anymore. The 2 faults seem to be connected but this may be coincidence.

The reason Steve asks is that the facelifted or D9 406 which you've got has very quirky electrics, all thanks to the Body Systems Interface

You're first and simplest port of call would be a BSI reset. Have a read back in this sub-forum,there are loads of threads on it (my excuse for "I cannot remember"!)

If the indicators work but don't click, I'd guess it's a D9 with a dodgy BSI-related problem. In a D8 if you don't get clicking, you don't get the lights!
As for the blower, quite a few appear to have gone south recently. You'll have to get under the glovebox to get at it (3 screws and a couple of wiring connectors, then it'll drop out). Chances are the problem is the red wire connector has burnt leaving deposits on the terminal...
