Lights left on Warning!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Lights left on Warning!

Post by skylinemv »

When your lights are left on does a D9 beep warn or otherwise tell you?

All my other cars go bong, or ping or buzz.

This 406 does niether :frown:

Pointers would be useful as I don't remember seeing it in the user manual.

Yep, with the driver's door open you should get a be-bo be-bo be-bo and a "SIDE LIGHTS REMINDER"warning in the display.

Well my illustrious car does none of that

What triggers the warning?

Leaving your lights on :P (with the key out the ignition and the driver's door open.) Do your courtesy lights work?

Hey, last of the D9s, what can I say? :cheesy: A couple of weeks later and it'd be a 407 (and I wouldn't have bought it  )

Hmm, I've just been out and had a try of mine, the lights on buzzer only works off the driver's door, open anything else and nothing. So it's not done directly off the courtesy lights, there's either some sort of control box from the driver's door switch to separate it from the courtesy circuit or there's another switch. Well the BSI is a black box from hell.

I used to get a buzzing noise when I left the key in the ignition but not any more.

Could be time for a BSI reset me thinks :)

I have this problem, no buzzer when the lights are left on and last friday left lights on and drained battery. I think its something to do with the car not knowing that the drivers door has been opened as when the drivers door is opened it is not registering "door open on dash diagram" and i have no courtesy lights when i open drivers door. When all the other door are opened they register on the dash and turn on the interior lighting. Could it have something to do with the central locking actuator beside the door lock.

Nothing comes up on the mfd for lights on or drivers door open but when all other doors are opened it will show up on the mfd which leads me to think its something to do with car not registering drivers door open.

Anyone got any ideas where to look or what might be the problem.
