Airbag Warning light

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Airbag Warning light

Post by markh »

Read all the threads on here now refering to Airbag failures and it seems apparent that the Airbag warning light flashes to determine the actual fault. 1.. Permanantly on
2.. On for 5 seconds then flashes
3.. flashes

Can anyone tell me the actual fault allocated to each warning description

I dunno about any of the others but on my D8 the constant flashing was the airbag ecu.

(Well, either that or it was something much simpler but Pug charged me for changing the ecu...)

On mine it flashes when the under seat connections are playing up and it's permanently on if you disable it via the key near the handbrake (I tried that once).

Cheers for the reply,

I'm left with three options, ignore it (as it's not an MOT fail) cut and solder seat airbag/pretensioner harness (which you have to cut and solder again if you have to take the seat out for anything) or replace the comm2000, which, is looking favourite as the indicator stalk is faulty.

Air bag light still on, indicator stalk an absolute nightmare and now the horn doesn't work, can't see how it can be anything other than the comms 2000

Airbag light is probably connectors under the seats, and sat nav unit needs a clean (I answered that in the other thread).

Loads of info on here mate, try a search on both topics.
