Hi. I have a D9 406. I may have to take out the BSI unit. I have been told/ seen posts to it location.By your right knee, by the fuse box, but I can't see it. We have unscrewed the fuse box and still can't see anything. The Haynes manual make no reference to it at all. Can someone please tell me where it is and how to remove it.
Thanks
Hi
Take out the fuse drop panel by your right knee, pull out the fuse panel (easy) the BSI is situated horizontally with a pile of wires going in to it just above the brake pedal. By the way BBA said they cannot repair these units contrary to their ad - the have had to give up on it. They even had the car of one customer in to to try and work something out and failed. So if the BSI is at fault and you get or buy a new one it's a stealer job to pair it up and program it. Big bucks Job - expect a bill for at least £800- 900 if you let them do it all. They will milk it for every details possible because they have you by the short and curlies.
Longintooth,
Thanks very much for this info. None of my electric widows work and I suspect the BSI. It's not the switch or fuse. Dissapointing news abot BBA as we have had long coversations with them and they seemed fairly confident that they could fix it. Is it just some models they can't do?
