Chip inside key

Post by Pugman406 »

Hi guys,

Ive had a spare two button key hanging around in a drawer for ages, it also has a chip inside it. Thing is, my car only came with one key, so was thinking is it possible to code this other key to my car to use as a spare.

The other thing is, the car never came with a credit card sized card with a special code, how do i obtain this? thru Pugeot? guess thats going to be costly!

The card thing has to come from pug and they'll charge you for it.
The remote keys have two bits to them. The remote key, this can be programmed to the car fairly easier i think, using the other key. Probably instruction somewhere round here.

The little chip is the immobiliser, I believe you program the car to the chip rather than the chip to the car. This has to be done by pug and they charge you by the hour to do it.

I reckon your looking at 1 hour labour (may aswell make them program the remote locking bit), card fee and a new blade . This could come to round £100 ish. I am afraid you have no choice but to take it to pug for it doing too.

Great! but i cant afford it b4 xmas, Pug have already had 180 quid out of me for a new bottom pulley!

Ive got a blade already cut, so its just a matter of getting the imobiliser side of it coded, ive tried coding the remote side but had no joy.

Will keep trying.

Does anyone know how much it is to get the special code from peugeot?
