Weird remote locking fault

Hi All

I have a 52 plate estate which intermittently wont lock or unlock from the remote if I take the insides out of the key and press the button it works OK, but then there are other times when the remote works fine from quite a distance away ,I have cleaned up all round the insides of the key and tried a new battery but its still the same.


Any ideas

First thing I'd suggest is getting a key off ebay and swapping the casing - or try with your spare key if you've got one.

Other than that it might be the microswitch on the pcb that's dodgy in which case someone's got to do a nasty soldering job...

Spare key hasn't got the buttons unfortunately, the little buttons look OK and click as they should but may have a lookon Ebay for another key

AArrggghhh now doesnt lock at all from the buttons in the key or out of it.
