Coming back up the m40 this morning a strange noise started as i was driving along. It sounded as though the indicators were on but they wernt.The noise came and went during the jurney and i can only assume that the relay is on its way outas the noise was coming from behind the fuseboard. a couple of times it sounded very loud and i got ready to bail just in case it went up in flames but the noise then went away.As i got towards home it started again.
Anyone any thoughts on this. Which relay controls the flashers and where is it.Strange thing is the indicators work fine. could it be a faulty stalk ?

Similar with mine, the indicator would start clicking on it's own, could be affected by touching the indicator stalk. I stripped mine down the other week and cleaned all it's contacts, now it's working fine.
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
