Is there the facility to enable auto locking doors (also called anti hijack) in the BSI?
You know: you set off and over about 4-5mph the doors all lock.
Drove a hire car 407 the other day, and this was selectable option, by pressing and holding the door locking button on the dash for 2 secs, and it enables, just the same as certain citroens. Unfortunately the 406 has no door lock button to try this, so i'm curious could this be a dormant feature in the BSI that the dealers could enable?
Auto locking doors, is this possible?

I *think* I've seen something like that in the options the first time I hooked my car up to the laptop... but I was too cautious to touch the setting (just like I stayed well away from the airbag test section
)
I'll have a play and report back next time I've got the lappy out there

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
Re: Auto locking doors, is this possible?
Thanks, I'm sure that PSA like VAG probably use a universal BSI on both peugeots and citroens to save costs by designing a single BSI, so they just enable or disable various options, depending on what's fitted to the car.
BTW what kit are you using to hook up you lappy to the car? is it a 3rd party system like VAG-COM is on VAG group cars, or is it a dealer supplied system?
If 3rd party, what stuff are you running, and how much to get a working setup?

Acording to the Peugeot hand book for my car(2003 d9 estate Hdi 110 SE)the function for auto locking is there but needs to be activated my a Peugeot dealer.
I`ve never looked into though.

Taken from my manual
.
"Automatic central locking.
To activate this function, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
The doors & the boot of your vehicle lock automatically while driving(speed greater than 6 mph(10 km/h)
The door opening controls permit complete unlocking of the vehicle."

Bobby dazzler, was going to get the car taken in to the dealers for cruise control activation in the BSI, after I've fitted the switch. I'll ask them to do it at the same time, make the most of my £42 for half an hours labor, for a 5 min job!
Any other stuff in the BSI that just needs activating?

Re: Auto locking doors, is this possible?
Heres a tale,
Ive driven plenty of cars with this. Freaks out some of the passengers too!
A chauffeur who has this very sensitive facilty on his Merc got out at the airport and didnt put the handbrake on fully.
Whilst settling up at the roadside and with the doors shut and the engine running........ you can guess.
Yup! The car rolled forward and locked him out!!! Fortunately there was a speed bump very close which saved him as the speed was low. I dont know how he got back in but I imagine he had a very red face. The AA man must've howled.
I had this facility on my poltergeist Mondeo which was quickly disabled
