Air bag connector under seat

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Air bag connector under seat

Post by lordmpl »

Hi All,

Hope all the New Year Celebrations are all going well...

I have a flashing airbag light on my car, its a recent thing, suddenly happened when i moved my seat forward after the long legged wife had been in it.

At first i checked the connectors under the seat and all seemed fine then the light went of again, assuming it was something i wiggled may have been loose.

But its back on again now, and i have wiggled but nothing, still there blinking at me.

Under the seat there are a few connectors that dont seem to go anywhere is this right, I have checked the only connected wire i can see which goes to the seatbelt pretensioner, the rest seem to be redundant..

Any Ideas anyone???

Thanks, Mark.
Once again I have a project... The wife says if I dont stop spending money on my cars she's off... Shame i'll miss her....

Umm, your avatar seems to be a D8, does your car have airbags in the seats? The pretensioner is part of the same system...

Hi, Yes i have a 98 SRI Turbo D8, There are no airbags in the seats, allthough I have D9 seats in the car, but there are no markings to suggest an airbag in the seats. Under the seats there is 4 connectors only one is wired (Orange thickish cable) which goes to the seat belt stalk area with a big cylinder and a thick steel cable, which i am assuming is a pretensioner..

The other connectors are blanked off.
