Central Locking System Problem?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Central Locking System Problem?

Post by Bailes1992 »

Now and again I go to open my car, it opens then locks ?
I have to catch it just as it opens and open the drivers door quickly, once I get in I can pull the passengers door handle and the rest open no problem with the central locking?
Now also once or twice I've locked the car with the remote and the drivers door hasen't locked? I have to open the door and lock it manually.
The drivers door lock also can be tempremental and you have to quickly put the key in the lock and turn it simistanious otherwise it simply dosent turn...

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers Bailes.

Thanks Steve but the drivers door lock hasen't works tidy since I've had it and it wasen't this cold then. I will say once when the drivers door wouldnt lock I slammed it and it started working so thinking of pulling the dorr card off and giving everything a good going over and a spray with WD.

Like I said in the other thread (which worked, and saved a whole lot of very cold work), try squirting WD40 through the lock and working the central locking a few times BEFORE you go to the effort of pulling the door card off.

I've got to change the wing mirror switch on my Golf, and I've tried everything I can to avoid having to take the card off in this weather. Unsuccessfully.
