Hello all I'm sat on my drive with this sodding D8 I'm selling it at the end of the week ad I want the temp gauge to work as soon as you flick the ignition on it shoots right past the red as far as it'll go I know the thermostat works becase the fans cut in when it's hot etc and I've checked fuses does anyone know what could be causing this it only did it last week as I started the car it did the above and it's done it ever since any help would be greatly appriciated

Faulty engine coolant temperature sensor?

The wire to the gauge earthing out somewhere?

ive checked all the wires and they seem all okay ive just ordered a new sensor so ill just whack that in when it comes and see what happens, cant believe how much money im spending just to sell this car! someones gonna get a bargain!
