Which module (behind glovebox) is for speedo ??

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Which module (behind glovebox) is for speedo ??

Post by carmamir »

I have problem with my Sagem (it not working (speed, milage)). I checked board and correct connections, checked speed sensor in gearbox and now it's only left speedo module begind glovebox. I saw 2 or 3 modules I have black one but probably it is from steering (the last from left side).

Any one could give me clue which one will be responsible for speedo ??

Yesterday I saw for 2 seconds speed (around 70miles/h).

Thank you in advance.

All I know is that it's "about the size of a fag packet".

I searched for this and found about a dozen threads all asking the same thing, does someone wanna take a pic of it's location? :)

Mine was all the way over on the right but that probably doesn't help as mine+s a left-hooker :P

They aren't on all cars, only ML5s AFAIK and only D8s too, what car are we talking about here?

It's behind the glovebox, about level with the top of it, and is black with a red sliding end piece that the loom plugs into. It's mounted with this connector facing downwards, so that should help you to locate it! You slide the red bit backwards and the loom will then pop out. Slide the box down towards the floor of the car and it should just come out nice and easily. It was almost a year ago when I did mine though, so my memory may be slightly rose tinted... :supafrisk:
