useful? info re 'beeping' radio/cds

Post by marcus »

I know I asked about this here before and I've seen other's questions about fiting secondhand post 99 cd/radios. So I'm adding a note re my experience.

I bought a secondhand Clarion CD from ebay (£55). It 'beeped' on installation (Peugeot's security system replacing codes). I asked mechanics and here and there for a non-main theiving gits option but to no avail. Basically if your in this situation you'll probably need to go to Peugeot. They charged me £47 to spend 15 minutes 'calibrating' my cd/radio to my vehicle. And now it works and I'm happy enough.

I've had to phone a few dealers lately to code a radio. They all wanted half hour labour. I've been lucky since that the insurance company have decided to pay for it.

But I'm still waiting, it's ben on order for 5 weeks, has to come from France (via New Zealand)
