dont understand

Hi ,

After being impressed with my wifes pug, just got myself a xreg 2000, peugeot 406 2.ol lx estate.

It currently has a clarion rd2 set up, , does not seem to take cd-r's, spits out cd's after just showing track.

Therefore I want to put in my sony bt2500 bluetooth stereo in, i know i need a fascia adaptor. going by previous posts i think it wont work with my stalk or display, display not really bothered about.

However I have a couple of questions.

What will the display show if put in a sony stereo, with no adaptors to link with display?
2. I hava roof arial and the small window mounted sports arial, I really dont get why it has 2, anybody know?

Can't help on the two-aerials question, but I have a Sony stereo with no stalk/MFD adapter.

The stalk does sod-all, and the MFD continues to show the date/time, the temperature (when my sensor is working), which doors are open, and will give fuel / brake fluid / temperature-related warning messages. It won't show anything to do with which radio station you have selected, or which track is playing on the CD.

I am planning on getting a stalk/MFD adapter after Christmas. I did like the stalk control, but thought it was a bit mean of Peugeot not to include a CD player as standard (yes, even 10 years ago, I think that was stingey), and I didn't have any tapes, so I went for the CD player option. That said, I mostly stream music to it from my Blackberry via Bluetooth these days, so the CD drive gets little use...

my white D8 has no CD player, after xmas im gonna get a sony CD/USB/Radio, ISO connector and a face plate, cant be arsed with the stalk controls and the car doesnt even have a screen so no big loss!,i agree it seems to be the remains of a mobile phone kit, are there any holes in your dash or wear marks down the side of the heater conrol panel or radio where it could have been mounted or is there still a mobile phone cradle on your dash?, or it might be whats left of a cabbies CB radio system i doubt it has anything to do with the radio itself

yeah, looks like the 2 small window ariel is to with a mobile hands free kit.

ihave come across the speaker in passenger well, and small discreet mic at rear mirror,

Going to look and see when weather clears if control unit is left in, maybe can get a cradle to fit it
