Clarion cd player problem

Clarion cd player problem

Hi all
my cd player does not read CDs it just spits them out after a few seconds
anyway following peoples advice on the forum I removed the unit and took the top of and cleaned the laser
it is still not working I noticed that the disc is not spinning altough it did try a couple of times
has anyone had this problem?

If it's doing that to every disc that you put in the motor may be on its way out, I've not had any experience with the Clarions but others will be along with more advice.
Can I make a suggestion? Put your car model/engine type in your sig; it helps when we're answering posts! :)

Hi
I was messing about with the cd player today and gave the lens a tap with a cotton bud and lo and behold it started working hooray
now I have to sort out the crap sounding speakers lol

My CD player does this too. Even CDs that I put in in the morning and listen to in the way to work, by the evening I start the car and it wont read the CDs.

Granted a lot of my CDs are scratched, it does seem to be a very fussy CD player.


Has anyone tried one of those lens cleaner discs on it as a lazy alternative to pulling the thing apart?
(Those CDs with little brushes on the lower side that play a cheesy tune. Used to work wonders on old 2 speed CD ROMs on old "Multimedia PCs" about 15 years ago!)
