Wiring advice.

Post by pacmannewry »

Hi folks,

I have recently taken a Sony CD multi-changer and head unit from my wife's old Corsa which has been sent to the scrapper. I took out the factory fitted Phillips in my Pug 406 but (excluding the aerial) there are four plugs on the Phillips and obviously none of them match the 16 pin socket on the back of the Sony. I presume I need an adapter harness to make the loom fit the Sony but can anyone advise me what the actual one is that I need?

Also, if I do make the switch, will I be surrendering the stalk functions or is there a dedicated loom that will tie in eveything?

Thanks

Pop into a car audio shop-take the radio in with you and they will give you
What you need,
Have you left the Sony wiring loom in the corsa..by any chance.

Yes you will loose the ability to use the pug stalks.

Cheers Lozz - the Corsa was crushed a few weeks back so no chance of rescuing anything there. It never occurred to me at the time.

Can't you use a patch lead to keep the pug stalk working?

That's what I was hoping to do - ebay has them for sony head units......?

The problem with harness adapters and patch leads is, although they work, they are massive and a bugger to tuck behind the stereo if you have limited space...
