Hi All,
I've been faffing about with putting an aftermarket head unit in my 307 it's been giving me no end of grief but while messing with pp2000 the other day I noticed and option to configure the car for a 2nd manufacturer radio. Has any one tried messing with this before?

Yes, on my 406, while trying anything to get a new MFD to work properly. As far as I could tell it basically just tells the MFD/BSI that it can no longer talk to/control the radio.
There are all sorts of radio settings including whether it has rear speakers or not in PP, and I assume it also disables these controls/restrictions. At one point when I selected that option the radio (which was silent up to that point) suddenly started playing sound through the speakers implying some block somewhere had been lifted.
Help at all?

Sort of.... My daughter's got an 07 plate 307 with an aftermarket h/u, which means she can't set the clock etc on the MFD as this is done via the column stalks.
You can't get round it with PP2K either, so she's looking to get an old std head unit to slot in occasionally, just to set everything.

Cheers guys,
Doggy does your daughters car have an adapter loom or is plugged straight in? The hu I have is a blaupunkt one with iso and it can be plugged onto the factory loom and with a bit of musical wiring function correctly with the exception of one small issue. Every so often the hu goes bleep displays the current input and then carries on like normal maybe a half second interruption. It seems to occur randomly so I don't know if it's the car momentarily interrupting the ign pos or if it's a fault with the unit. I'm going to pop the unit back to the guy I got it off so he can bench test it but I'm hoping that it's a car issue and that a reconfig will sort it.

I think it's plugged straight into the ISO power and speaker connectors - just not the column stalk as this was no doubt van/can bussed in
