Post by jason1987 »

How does it all connect? do i need adapters? its for a 1997 sri turbo.
just ordered some pioneer components, i forgot about the crossovers, how am i going to connect the new tweeter to the standard connections? do i just bypass it using the crossover and supplied speaker cable?

That depends on the make-up of the tweeters. I fitted the tweeters from a JBL equipped coupe into mine, but as they were designed to run with the JBL amplifier, my car was putting too much bass through them & they broke.

The standard tweeters have a resistor fitted to them that stops them receiving the bass signals, but if the ones you've bought don't have these resistors fitted, you may find that the stereo pumps the bass through them.

got them all connected now but my standard tweeters are on aswell as the new pioneer ones, will this mess the signal up having 2 lots of tweeters? should i disconnect the old ones? the components didnt come with an external crossover they are just inline wired ones.
