AUX IN ADAPTOR FOR RD2......

Post by Drewnn3 »

Hi everyone, need some help.

Does anyone know if you can get something similar tobthe connects2 device that is compatible with the Clarion RD2 without the need for any reprogramming as i can only seem to find them for the RD3?

I've got a Connects2 and an RD3, (RD3's are pretty common / cheap nowadays).
The head unit then 'sees' your memory stick as a CD changer with 9 virtual CD's each with up to 99 tracks. :cheesy:
If you change the head unit, it need's to be programmed to the car, but quite a few of us can now do it for you.
It will work without programming so you can test it, just has an annoying regular beep until it's been set to the correct VIN code.

Would an RD3 retrofit into a 99 V PLATE....if so would that mean the RD3 would work once programmed to a specific car?

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but i like the idea of not hiving some oiks a reason to break in to the car for an aftermarket head unit if i can just adapt what i have.

Not so simple, because early head units have integral amplifiers, later posh ones work with an external amp and a few very late examples have a head unit that will work with either.......
You can retrofit a head unit from a car that had a CD changer and no amplifier to yours, then fit a Connects2 and it will all work just fine.
You might even be able to do it with your existing head unit if it has the blue CD changer socket - pull it out and have a butchers.
