My cd changer doesn't seem to like playing any cds. It recognises which slots have discs in them but it won't play anything be it copied or original.

Doesn't matter too much though as I'll be pulling it out next week once I've installed my new alpine head unit and ipod interface :)

Afraid not, I've already tried switching them, and cleaning them, and using a lens cleaning cd in it (both ways up).

That was my first thought having done that myself when i first used mine - took me ages to work that one out

Are the housings for the cd's running freely - one of mine kept sticking when trying to read the disk and kept coming up with an error. just a thought :P

For the 24 hours between when I realised the car had a changer, and when I slotted my JVC head in, I only had 3 CDs working because I decided to put them in alternate up-down-up-down fashion because I couldn't work out what way to stick 'em in :)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Phil , you havent got the system mutted have you

If not try inserting just one disk at a time into seperate slots as it may be just one feeder thats not connecting right and this will not allow the others to read properly. :x

woot woot! Got her working. My cd changer is a kenwood, looks to be an aftermarket one.

I had to tune the radio into 88.6fm to get her working. All is well :)

I got asked the exact same question on the coupe website lol. As my changer is a kenwood aftermarket changer, it uses a different setup to cnnect to the standard radio. it connects via the aerial. I think ipods connect to some headunits in a similar way.
