Searching for 'SE/Excecutive'model...

Post by lionyo »

Hi,

I am looking for a 406 Hdi model for my dad he insists this time he wants a top spec model and I have been searching high and low for one over the past three weeks and am having difficulty searching for one. Why can't I find one is it because the owners simply do not want to sell them or is it the fact that the 'SE or the Excecutive' model 406's were a rare car to start off with. I'm currently searching on Pistonheads, Autotrader and eBay.

They are out there, but the higher spec models sold less than their more mainstream counterparts, and are consequently less common today.

What engine would he prefer? 90's tend to be lower spec anyway - while they could be had with the higher trims, it seems daft to choose the cheaper engine and not have a cheaper trim level as well.

What sort of budget does he have?

I saw an ad not long back for a TD (not HDi) in executive trim with only 26,000 miles on it , so they are out there. Problem is, most people want the very same as your feller, so demand means they often don't hang about long.

The engine he wants is the Hdi 110 or the Hdi 136 which some SE models come in... bit of a shame the higher spec models didn't sell as my dad says they are more comfortable.

You can also try gumtree.com, I bought my car there but it's one of those cases of right place at the right time. Worth a look though.
