Now I can understand wearing shoes while driving, kind of (I actually think I'm more in control in bare feet, especially compared to hob nailed boots) but I've been told, by two different people, that it's illegal here to drive WITHOUT A SHIRT ON My mate Goran's dad just got fined 700Kn (about 90 quid) for it, I thought he was winding me up about it but then I asked someone else and they confirmed it. What in bog's name could be the problem of not wearing a shirt? What possible safety implication could it have? How would it invalidate your insurance? I know there's still some daft archaic laws floating about back in Blighty but really, this one takes the biscuit
I can quite understand this law , if a fookin fat bastard like me was driving
around without a shirt it would cause multiple pile ups as other motorists
stared in disbelieve
I tried driving in bare feet once, and although I liked the control it really didn't suit my driving style at all in the coupe. The Brembo brakes are much harder to push than the normal ones, and when like me you routinely just use the big toe part of the ball of the foot to brake so the little toe part can work the accelerator, you really find the pedal bloody hard as there's no shoe sole to distribute the force. Also, the lack of a shoe makes your foot less wide so it's harder to work both pedals at the same time...
I do try to stick with well worn trainers when driving
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
It's common, chav and loutish. An Englishman would never dream of being seen in public topless (except on a beach). Hell, that's what was caned into me at prep school. It's almost as much a social faux pas as wearing a hat indoors, or on a bus, or tucking the tablecloth into your collar at dinnertime..
I'm pleasantly surprised that the Croatians are so advanced and civilised.
Totally agree with you turbo , i too was taught at school that such behaviour
was vulgar !! in fact i was caned several times for removing my shirt during
break time in summer Ahh those were the days , the crack of leather
across one's arse
