Hey all,
Random conversation I know but heh.
I had a blood test three weeks ago and for some reason I've still got bruising.
When the nurse took the blood, she done it very well, in fact the least traumatic I've had. Yet as I left, I noticed my veins around the area were swollen, something I've not experienced before.
The next day, I had a horrible dark bruise, which has remained there for three weeks now.
What's weird is that the bruise expanded from where she took blood to the middle of my forearm. Almost as if I bled under the skin?
Anyone experienced this or any other gorey blood tests?

Sounds like some blood has leaked under the skin as the needle was inserted/extracted.
Exaggerated bruising or bruising too easily can be a sign of elevated blood pressure or too thin blood. A family member is taking Asprin daily and they bruise readily whereas 'normal' people wouldn't.
