Prior o seeing this post, I used mycarcheck and did the £9.95 check on a car my sister-in-law is buying. I would have chose the silver £4.95 basic check, but as they said the mileage was available, I opted for the gold check to include the mileage.

Unfortunately, the last recorded mileage they held was back in 2007, and supplied by mobility servicing.

Maybe on the page where they say the mileage is available, they should state the date of the last recorded mileage. Then you can make a decision based on this.

So maybe, unless you need the higher guarantee, the basic check for £4.95 is ample.
