Re: Insurance for 17 year old's
My insurance for this year cost me... £343
Strangely though, that's around £150 cheaper if I actually make my partner a named driver, with me as the main driver. However, if I am a named driver on her insurance, it would cost around £600. Strange or what?!
My advice is to play around with various combinations of putting your partner on your insurance or putting your name on her insurance. Makes a lot of difference....

Thing is, the comparison sites still lead you to an insurance company, in the end. That's the real problem.
And they will all make you pay a whole crapload of money for not an awful lot of service.

What I do is compare prices on these meerkat sites and then go to top 3-ish cheapest insurance companies and get quotes individually. More often than not, you will get a cheaper quote directly on the site - especially after playing around with the options.

Re: Insurance for 17 year old's
Well, I've run out of ideas now....tried all the comparison sites, nothing less than £8,000 on those now.
My motor trade insurer is the cheapest at £5,200. They won't let me put him on my insurance.
Adrian Flux, who are supposed to be specialist young person insurers and claim to be good for young drivers quoted me £20,000
Tesco wouldn't quote unless he was 18, Asda quoted £13,000.
Didn't make any difference with me or his mother on the policy, in fact it cost more.
Nobody would take pass-plus into account.
