Quick Advice on D8 heaters please :D

Post by Bailes1992 »

Right the 406's heaters have packed in. If you pull the cables going to the fan thing it starts working again.
The fan thing is situated behind the glovebox.
Do I need to pull out the whole dash to get to it?

How do you remove the glovebox? I've removed the glovebox lid, that was easy. I've removed the two screws on the side and the 3 screws at the top but the bloody thing won't move :(

from memory, 3 screws at the top when glovebox open, and on the side of the dash is a little peice of plastic that clips off (only with door open you can see this)

I was just thinking when I noticed it, how many 406's have had new heater units because of this?

For removal of the glovebox, see my illustrated guide to replacing the passenger side airbag cover.

you dont need to remove the glovebox at all if you remove the bit of carpet and stick your head under you can do it without.

Ive had my head up in there theres enough room to take a walk around the place i had no need to do anything for the fan just wiring up footwell lights, but you just need to put the seat back fully, then lie back and do any work to the fan or whatevers up there, this method probably isnt good for people with 'bad backs'.
