just installed windows 7 on a new sata 3 seagate hard drive 500gb

wow, wot a difference from my old 80gb IDE hard drive with XP on

only cost me £27 as well, gonna get 4GB of DDR2 ram next week me thinks its time to upgrade

DDR2 is the ram to get, i once upped my old dells ram to 4gb but it wasnt ddr2 just standard and it made absolutley no difference.

it depends what motherboard you have,

mine is dual channel RAM so i get 2 sticks 2gb each and run 1 in each channel

the dell had 2 channels so there was 2x 2gb chips, made no effect on it all. The mac though has 4gb and an i5 processor and it seems to cope quite well, only 320gb though, i went a bit cheapskate on the hdd option
