There's Always a first time for everything !!

Post by puggy »

During the nearly 5yrs of owning my pug i have never had a code flash up
or warning light come on (apart from the standard low brake fluid  )
that was until yesterday . I had been to fill up and on the way home i was
going to call in on a friend , as i pulled away from traffic lights , on a road
i use regularly , i thought i would have some fun as the road was damp and
booted the old girl to get her wheel spinning  i had totally forgot
that a few hundred yards down the road there was a speed bump stretching
the width of the road and hit it flat out in second . Result was front wheels
temp airborne  , when i called my friends , less than half a mile further
on and came to start the car to return home , nothing , just kept turning over ,
after thinking for a little while popped bonnet pressed reset button and started
straight away :P but engine management light on :( but after stopping and
starting 3 times it has now gone off :)
.. ooh are those drugs for me Matron

I'd get your geometry checked out - you might have slightly more toe-out than you did...

Must be the milder weather turning puggy all frisky again......

The fault would almost certainly have been low fuel rail pressure. It would also be 'normal' for it to clear after a few fault-free journeys.

Whether the pilot could be described as 'normal', is less clear.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I used to work with a guy who was really pi... annoyed about the speed of traffic going past his house. Eventually he got them to put a speed bump outside. Then he was complaining about the way his house shook every time a truck went over the speed hump
