Computer Making dial noise

Im a bit confused by the dialing noise this laptop of mine is spontanously making, it sounds like a phone dialing out but im not sure what it is.

Through the speakers?
My desktop does it when I have the speakers turned on sometimes.Its either a phone ringing or a text coming through or something.On my old pc speakers I once had a voice come through them,I think it was a CB or taxi radio or something.

lol my pc did that a few months ago, it turned out i was moving the mouse cursor on screen over a BT telephone advert

if you left it on the advert it stoped after a few dials

i thought i was going insane

this was when the programs were closed, and then i turned off the wifi and it still did it, but hasnt done it since.

some virus is trying to dial your modem ? usually the dialling tone comes out the PC/System speaker is due to modem is trying to establish a connection.
