Peuegeot's New (Penis) Envy Limited Editions

Post by steve_earwig »

Here.

Just how bluddy arrogant is that? Are they really pitching a sales campaign with the premise that your car will be vandalised?

And what the f***'s this "Electric Ion" thing? Sorry Pug but if you're stupid enough to call a car that you'll have to expect people to think this:

and sales to be crap. Tw@s.

If anyone's tempted, help yourself to my barge pole.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Just another marketing gimmick, they throw in a few more goodies and thats the height of it. I would expect the level of envy to be similar to an LX 406 owner seeing a GLX 406 drive past, you'd get over it

Truth of the matter is that these stupid gimmicks sell motors

Here's an idea Pug: Build a great car, take it racing and win things, then release proper 'specials' like the 405 and 205 T16's... 8)

envy, huh, pity the fool who buys one of them, the 5/3008 is the only half decent one there the rest is shite, the 308 isnt a bad looking car from the side, but the blobfish nose ruins it. one thing i hate about special edition trims is that they never are really that great, they have some good things but are still never the high end trim level. But while peugeot is busy building ugly cars, citroen is busy making great looking cars:
http://www.citroen.co.uk/home/#/new-car ... itroen-c4/
that is a car i would envy.

so here is my idea for peugeot, take the man who designed the 207, then the 308, and the various cc named cars in the last 10 years, and fire him, then get the man who did the designing back in the 90s to come back, work with the italians and make nice looking cars, and get someone with a degree in electronics engineering to do the electronics, and make the new cars better to drive.

Did anybody here ever buy a new car?
I certainly never would. (Not my own money anyway, maybe if I won the lottery or somebody offered...)
So we're not the target of the advertising: its not supposed to work on us!

It's still a load of bollocks though.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

my friend bought a brand new car last year, a complete waste of money. Buying a new big french car is not a great idea if you can understand the concept of depreciation, anyone who bought a c6 new just did it to be the only one with it, but now its a couple of years old we can buy them at under £10k now, and the value is still falling. Give it 3 years and ill be wafting about in one, ill buy it with the change after getting a chippy.

C6 under 10k  oh, yeah
But not a nice one.
I'll get saving...

Apparently the BMW people struggle to get 50MPG out of their 3-series.
I like finding reasons to not covet BMWs.

I keep thinking about this to run on veg oil. (It's the cream leather.) (And I have recently ingested beer.)

the c6 if your going to buy one must be an exclusive model with the 2.7 v6 and an auto. Its a much nicer car, i test drove both, the 2.2 isnt right nor is a manual in this sort of car.
Now for a quirky way to driver on veg oil:

okay that not the right one, but they are rare, theres a 2.5 diesel avaiable with them what are they like with vegetables.

Oh. I won't have an automatic :|

I was thinking about Xantias (Xantiata?!). Or a BX :D But try getting one of them with cream leather.

your going rightly back in the years though. A 505 would be available with cream leather and this mysterious 2.5 diesel. Is it an xud, is it a peugeot engine, was it any good?
another suggestion for veg oil is a diesel toyota carina, i see taxi drivers whizzing around in them, very reliable and reasonable economy but the trade off is a sh*t car.
