Window Tints

Post by trem1 »

Right then im keeping the 407 for awhile and quite fancy having the rear 3 window's tinted BUT ive never looked through one from the inside out, so are they as dark looking out as they are looking in??

How dark should i go ie: limo black or not???

Has anyone had this done before and whats the process and approx cost??

Any horror stories???

what's your experiences wth them??

And Any recommendations in the Newcastle/Sunderland area's of the north-east

Neil

i havnt had tinits before but a friend did

personally i wouldnt go for limo black i would go for a slight tint just dark enuff so people cant see in
from the inside it is darker looking out but not as dark as it is from outside,

price wize . i think it would be around the £100-£150 for the back done

My uncles hilux has them, it looks good on a black car like it, and its only a light subtle tint so really it just keeps the back a tad darker.

Check your window rubbers when they've finished, been known for them to damage them a bit :|

Maybe a tad odd on a saloon? I see quite a lot of estates here done in the back half tinted stylee so perhaps I'd get used to it.

Actually, I'm wondering how much it would cost here to do my estate. And worrying it'll look like a hearse...

In nz your only allowed a max of 35% tint. We did the 307 to help save the leather and to protect from the UV (we have a massive hole down in the ozone here) as burn times can be as low as 13 minutes in summer.

It has made a massive difference to how hot it gets inside the car, it also helps if someone tries to smash the windows as the film will hold the window together.

Have a look at the better places and ask some of the dealers who they use. The film they use also varries and will have different UV / Heat protection and color (ash, black, gray, etc...) to better match the cars.

Companies like Bolle, 3M, make some very good tints.

Perhaps they're ordered like that and the tint's in the glass.

trem the 407 is looking well. But on the topic of standard tints it must be mixed into the glass.
