the late rover minis were quite luxuriously trimmed on the inside, dont know what sort of engine they got, hopefully the mini was never cursed with the K series.

A non-working friend of ours proudly shoved her new mini convertible up our noses last summer,in the recession, her husband bought it for her to keep her sweet.

She simply had to show us all the 'extras' which turned out to be a mind-boggling, and overly expensive, array of little 'touches' it was barely believable  .

It made me think of the poor old suited, hair-gelled, poofter sales guy at the dealership having to record, change, put back, cross out, change, put back, cross out all these Extras or 'Packs' to complete his sales order - with a Woman customer

Got to had it to them though, the Mini is pure fashion on wheels. Fin.

My driving instructor's car was a New Mini.

I'm 6ft 1in, a very large part of which is leg length.

I hate the big new BMW Mini every bit as much as I hate the original little Mini. Sorry you Mini lovers, these little cars do absolutely nothing for me whatsoever, other than wind me up. They're not even nice-looking, IMHO.

Fiat can shove the 500 too (the original and the much bigger new version). Bleaurgh <vomit smiley that I can't bloody find>

The new ones are fairly popular here - but the cost roughly double the cost of a base model Fiesta spec for spec! Saw heaps of them in Paris and London - but I suppose they are a stack cheaper!

Would I buy one - no.

id buy a panda 100hp if they were cheap enough, it would be the sports car. The 1.1 was so much of a ball to drive even if it just had 50ish bhp the 1.4 is bound to be great fun.

Hate the new Mini, but loved the original. My mum had a BL beige Austin Mini sometime in the late 80s.

The new one is a posers item, usually driven by estate agents.

That new Mini jeep is a disgrace. Saw one in real life and it was horrible, driven by somebody who you would not like to sit near at a dinner party.
A "Mini" as big as a Land Rover

At least the Rocketman is nearly Mini-sized, though it wont be proper 4 seater. More a 2+1 with a seat in the boot.

The original Ford Ka embodied the spirit of hte original, even down the premature rust.

Newer alternatives are the mk1 Fabia VRS and the Suzuki Swift.

Possibly the Fiat Cinquecento and Daewoo Matiz have a similar spirit.

The k-series engines wasnt that bad mate,
the main problem people get with them is head gasket failiure and in most cases thats caused by people topping the header tanks up and not bleeding the coolant pipes off afterwards, the headGasket are as Good as choclate on them but if theyre looked after properly theyl last as long as any other engine,
