in the back of your head a voice shouts slam on the breaks, the thing is im driving the car i like, not the clio i dont want it involved in a crash.
The blasting away from the 30mph zone works with certain cars, small petrols, 4x4s and lorrys. It doesnt work with sports cars or scoobys, with them your best just to pull in. If its an alfa gtv6, or vxr8 you wave them on ensuring the window is open so you can hear a bit of nice music, there is a wee GTV6 knocking about here somewhere, they sound NICE.

Theres a young lady driving a fiat hatch back car up near me ithink its a brava,
nothing on the road can touch it not even a scooby,
it dont look much nice wheels and paintwork otherthan that it looks standard but someones thrown a 2.0 20v turbo lump in it
that thing can shift

the fiat 2.0 20v turbo just stay clear of it, them things go like stink, although the alfa v6 is a teeney bit faster and much nicer sounding.
But the vxr8 that lurks around here, you dont see it, then suddenly its there, it gets past and even if you are inside a triple glazed car, with ear muffs on and the radio up full blast this thing will still make you jump, the noise is amazing

The 2.0 twinspark made a nice noise

The Honda makes a go of dealing with traffic light grand prixers in their 320 diesels. Takes a second for the autobox to spool up, then the vtec roars.

These ones that tailgate in 30mph zones then can't keep up at NSL are as bad as following the 40mphers that continue at 40 in the towns

the 2.0 twinspark is it related to the 20v turbo engine and what did twinspark mean? I have no doubt it sounded fantastic petrol alfas do, but did you ever want to get the v6 one?

Truth be told I took a notion for a GTV, and that one came along. Would prefer it over the V6 for fuel, although the rate it drank it would'nt make much difference.
The Alfa community rate the V6 for power in the GTV, but the downside is that the extra weight upsets the balance a bit. They rate the 2.0 twinny as better handling.

I was happy enough with the performance of the 2.0, because opening it up on roads isn't something you get to do very often anyway. It still made a fantastic noise on high revs!

Twinspark means it has 2 spark plugs per cylinder. The normal plug in the combustion chamber, then a smaller one further up slightly the exhaust to burn anything wasted.
Gives a higher power output, but it's achilles heel is the timing belt. Needs replaced every 30k miles, and does snap sometimes even if kept to.
A girl I worked with her 1.6 TS 147 it went and it was a £1500 repair bill

I got rid of mine because this was due (along with pulleys, pumps) along with a clutch cylinder, fusebox and the cat needing replaced.

Was still a great wee car, but they would be better used as a weekend car, not something you rely on day to day.

Don't know about any others, but Mercedes jumped on the 2 spark plug bandwagon. I had a 1998 C240 Sport & that had 2 spark plugs per cylinder & I think they were about £8 each at the time (2005). That was a V6 so wouldn't have been cheap to service, but I do remember thinking to myself how expensive it would be to service a V12 model at those prices...

sounds like a good idea 2 spark plugs.
what about the old alfetta coupe gtv6 i like them, the v6 wouldnt upset the handling in it with it RWD and rear mounted gearbox for good wheight distribution.

Alfas are nice id love to have another one but,
cambelt changes are abit of a pain in them, its an engine out job in most of them unless you shoe horn the engine over to one side,
plenty come up on ebay for pennys because of this,
fiat wanted £1,200 the change the cambelt on my fiat marea that was basicly a alfa engine dropped in a fiat ,
and Alfas Eat gearboxes too my old Alfa used to jump out of 4th and 5th gear if you was going over 60mph :(

but its all part of the alfa magic to have difficult to remove cambelts, eat gearboxes, chew suspension bushes, have electrical trouble and rust.

I've seen a fair few female 406 drivers - there's a lady who owns a white D8 that lives somewhere else in our housing estate, for instance.

Also, our very own Supafrisk had a lovely black Executive saloon, used it as a taxi, til some muppet rear-ended it at 50 MPH and wrote it off (the other party admitted liability; she wasn't looking where she was going).
