That is interesting, yes, using a magnet to remove unwanted 'stains' on the screen eh, who'd have thought, of course it's not something I need to do but it's useful to remember should the need arise.

I've got a 37" JVC had it for several years , excellent picture and still is been well pleased with it

I reside in the Ford Cortina world of TV's with my old set, in fact in the 15 years I've been married I've never bought a main TV set for the lounge; gaining, as I seem to, other family members cast-offs each time. I just don't place much importance on TV's

Wasn't there famously a while back a massive lcd telly for sale cheap 'cos the owner had gone away for a couple of weeks and one of his "friends" had left a freeze-frame image from a gay pron flick on it all that time?

Wise thinking that welly , the JVC is the first Lcd i owned and as
it works perfectly i see no reason to change it .

I got an LCD because the picture quality of my old CRT TV was dire when watching DVDs. The TV still works, and is now in the living room of one of my wife's friends. It was a Goodmans TV. Can't recommend you avoid them enough

The Goodmans was bought because our old Sanyo TV had died about 6 times in the previous two years, and the warranty had just run out when it decided "f*ck it" and wasn't going to work any more. We didn't have money for a decent telly, but we found Argos had a deal going with this Goodmans thing, which included a 5.1 surround sound system (now dead) and a DVD player (also now dead).

I don't watch a lot of telly; the TV is mostly used for watching Blu Ray / DVD and for playing PS3 games. A good 1080p HD TV with at least 200Hz refresh rate makes a big difference for this over crap old CRT stuff.
