Redex £2 a bottle @ tescos

Post by Catflem »

They have both the petrol and diesel versions available.

The only drawback is that the instructions state that it should be added to a full tank of fuel......... I can't remember the last time I filled up, and its going to be a bloody long time before I do so again

Does this have any noticeable effect on diesels (both HDI and TD)? In other words, has anyone actually noticed any more power or better fuel efficiency after sticking a bottle of this stuff in? If they have, then I may well invest in a few bottles as I cover some serious mileage every month.

inall honesty, mine was down in power with the red ex in,
but now the tank as emptied and re filled its made a big diffence, its alot smoother
id use it again but once every 6mths or before a service just give it a clear out

For a diesel use either Millers Eco max or the best additive I've ever used is oridinary, low ash mineral two stroke oil! 250ml per tank.

i used a rather conservative amount back when i used to fill the tank, a capful, no difference was noticeable, lozz stated a better dosage which i shall put into the car the next time i go to put in some diesel, but how much should i put in with £25 of diesel ie about 18 litres.

The correct doseage is half a bottle to a full tank, but bearing in mind that tanks vary wildly in size across different manufacturers, I don't think that the exact doseage is critical..

Give or take a bit, 18 litres would be about a third of a tank, a third of a half is a sixth....... so if you put in a 6th of a bottle you shouldn't be far wrong (250ml /6 = 42ml).

It says on the Redex bottles that a typical tank is 50 litres.

Any time I used it, it was half a bottle in a full 70 litre tank.

a quarter of a bottle shouid be enough on £25 worth of fuel mate,.
dont expect the mpg to increase tho, its the After effect of the Redex you will benifit from,
id say around 2-3 mpg loss will accur whilst running the redex through it but once its all been run through it you will notice a big differnce,

dont use it often once every 5-6mths is good enough irekon
