Any tips?
The guy that is dealing with my mums car is being bit of a pain.
He said that the car (2005 Clio - 1.2 Extreme with 112k on the clock) would generally be worth £2500 but that is based on a 63k miles on the clock. Now he is only offering £2,000 because of the high mileage.
Glass's Car Guide says...
Trade-in - excellent:
£1,346.00
Trade-in - average:
£1,220.00
Trade-in - below average:
£1,020.00
Dealer Retail price
£2,710.00
Private Sale price:
£2,061.00
Just wondering if you guys think the mileage adjustment is a bit harsh - after the excess it is leaving my mum with £1650 which wont get a suitable a car!

Re: Loss Adjusters.....
£2k sounds fair for a 2005 1.2 Clio with 112k.
Not getting much more than that for a 2005 1.25 Fiesta with 44k on the clock to be honest!

It sounds fair to me, the mileage is high for such a small car only 6 years old at most, and the prices you posted up from Glass seem to reflect that, as always though dont accept the first price.

you want to look through the motering ads and find out what similar cars are selling for then you can show him these to support your case.

The only experience I had with an insurance valuer, he valued my Clio with the wrong mileage but I still ended up getting a profit of a couple of hundred on what I paid for it!
Then I wasted it all by buying a Ford
