the block is roughyl the same however, the derv head has inlet and exhaust on the same side (rear of head) since the diesel pumps sits at the front, this means the manifolds are VERY different to the petrol versions and you have no chance in fitting a derv one to a petrol.

secondly, a derv turbo on a petrol car will last about a month max.

diesel designed turbos are manufactured completly differently the exhaust gasses of a derv arre MUCH cooler, a petrol turbo turbine needs to be manufactured to withstand the hotter EGT. Not a good idea trying to fit the t2 tbh since its for a derv.

however if it is a petrol turbine, then go for it if your engine is 16v, manifolds are expensive although if your handy with a welder you can solve this :)
if its 8v then just use a 406/xm/605 one or buy a brand new turbo technics manifold for £250 from 205parts this will mate up to the t2 straight away and also offers much better gassflow than the crappy 406 manifold.
