well ive done it, ive been out this morning and bought the replacement for my beutiful 406,
but what have you bought i hear you ask

its a

peugeot 407 se hdi 136bhp
couldnt get a main stealer 406 at a good enough price so i paid a little bit more and got a 407

its done 35,000 miles

iron grey in colour

got loads of toys i:e dual digital climate control
auto lights & wipers

dunno what else really just yet

but watch this space
for a full test drive report

i pick it up on either tuesday if i can get a lift or later in the week if not

Hows the turbo lag on it? I've driven a 407 hdi 110 and found it had evil lag

Hi,

I have driven the 407SW 136bhp as my dad has one and I am insured on it, they are nice cars have not noticed any turbo lag. When you put your foot down you get loads of turbo boost

interesting point though, when I got my 406 110 it was smoking a bit, so when it was fixed I asked my dad to drive mine hard) to see if the smoke had gone, I followed in the 407 SW (estate), I had some trouble keeping up with my 406 (maybe it is because of the heavy glass roof), although when you drive it does seem faster then my 406 (I have noticed that the 406 110 is fast it just seems slow when you drive it, I have no idea why this is).


Things I don’t like about the 407:

The ride is not as soft as the 406 (as in you feel all the bumps in the road).

The side pillars (that hold the glass in) are too big, so when you come up to round abouts and junctions you cannot see all that well.

Nice choice of car and engine, get us some pics. As for your other question on cruise control, I use it daily. As long as traffic's not too heavy, I find it very relaxing. Makes me a much calmer driver.

Only kidding neil. You know, sometimes, the 406 is so comfy that it can make you feel a bit lazy sometimes, they should have fitted 2 foot-rests, one either side of the pedals
