AntiPollution Fault?

Post by ads2k9 »

Hi all

So i did a stupid thing today and ran out of diesel :( in my 2.0ltr HDI (110) 2003 pug 406.

Topped it up from a can, but now whenever i start the the an 'ANTIPOLLUTION FAULT' sign appears on the display and the engine warning light is constantly on. The car drives as great as ever. Anyone know what i need to do to get rid of this? or is there some problem with the engine now?

Thanks

There's a good chance it'll sort itself out - you've almost certainly got an intermittent low fuel pressure fault logged, which may clear itself after several fault-free journeys. Give it a day or two before trying anything else.

ok thanks for the advise.

Fingers crossed. This car has been so great ever since i got her, would hate to think that i have damaged her in anyway through something so stupid on my part.

Hi. I had the same problem. It can be caused by the sensor in the exhaust. Mine was annoying & intermitant some times too.

I came to the conclusion that the sensor was all carboned up. I did the easy thing of driving around untill the engine was hot and then blasted it down a local dual carridge way around 80 in 4th gear to clear out the carbon deposits. After that I disconnected the battery, waited 5 mins, reconnected and started car. The light had gone off and the display has never come back
