Dont tell him a mate told you about the possable problem being the injectors. Just tell him you read on the internet somewere about it and ask if it could possably be whats causeing your problems. Then flutter the old eyelashes in an im a girly sort of way cant fail can it :cheesy:

the fact that the car was started with petrol in it is bad enough, the HDi's really dont like petrol, you dont even really need to drive them with it in, you need to take the fuel filter out of its housing, if theres any sign of tiny metal particles in it, the lift pump wont have long left, and the particles will begin its job of fudging up the injectors, which is why the dealers always prescribe a complete fuel system with fuel contamination, remapping the ecu wont do nothing for the noise, it will, if anything, make it worse as the injectors are working harder, and there was never a software upgrade for a noisy HDi engine, with the egr blanked off i can see the engine light comming on quite soon, as the air mass meter will look for a greater depression in the inlet manifold, when warming up from cold, at low engine speed and cruising at low speed as it will expect the egr to be working which it wont be, the HDi is not an engine to be messed about with
do you have any cambelt history with the car, or have you had it changed with the crankshaft pulley?

Super I dont know you and have never met you BUT in my experience those who mount that sort of campaign do so because they would like to but know they have no chance of doing so and therfore dont want anyone else to. As welton said dont let it get to you. They probably need to think about themselves in order to get an erection anyway    .

You can thank the American's for that, you can guarantee that whatever goes on in the states will appear in the UK within a few years, nice one.

Hey Supa, yesterday I walked past an 02 Reg HDi which was idleing and it sounded well ropey, I even tried to compare the sound I remembered with mine when I got back to my (cold) car and the 02 was louder.

4. front passenger speaker doesnt always work

where do i start lol
1) no exhaust from the cat back ( fell off a few weeks ago and im to tight to pay the £180 for a new section , besides the mot aint due till november)
2) front bumper and n/s fog lamp smashed to bits after hitting a fox at 60mph
3) various dashboard bulbs work sometimes
4) cd multichanger doesnt like playing copied cd's
4) heated seats dont work
5) rear window washer blocked
6) estate luggage cover ( the retractable one ) , spring loaded "thingy" missing on one side so it dont stay shut
7) handbrake is CRAP
8) front headlamp washers not working
9) rear bushes slighty worn ( as advised in MOT )
10) auto windsreen wiper setting not working
11) clock not working
12) dodgy battery in remote central locking

looking at that list im surprised cos none of them seem serious , not bad for a 10 year old car with 202,000 miles on it and it still beat my mates d8 406 2.0 16v once we got up past 65 - 70 mph

On my D9:

The boot light doesn't work (even after changing the bulb)
The car will need a service in under 2000 miles
The leather has come off near the electric seat switches on the drivers seat

On my D8

It won't start  The keypad has got both green & red LEDs on constant
It needs 2 new tyres
The automatic Handbrake adjusters need MANUAL adjusting
The tracking needs to be sorted out
Front anti-role bar links needs to be replaced AGAIN
One of the number plate bulbs need changing

(Thats all I can think off)
