406 Newbie needs advice!

Post by Adam Lewis »

Merry Xmas Everyone

I've got a prob with my 406 1.8 Rapier

Bought it last week, 54,000 on the clock, V reg for £1500 its in great nick!

Been driving really nice - and Ive been well impressed -until last night and this morning when the handling / ride has gone all lumpy and the steering has become less sharp / precise.

It seems to pick up every single little bump on the road and whilst it isn't crashing on the bumps the supsension just seems twitchy (very very bouncy)!

I'm sure it's just the tyres needing air - but can anyone else think of any other reason it would have gone like this literally overnight?. (sorry if this seems like a silly question)

One other question anyone know of any good independent Pug mechanics in the Wets Mids Area? - I want the oil changed, and new cambelt -Peugeot have quoted over £600 (ouch) !

Cheers All

Hi,

Check your tracking rods, mine went and got the same symptons, only thing is that mine had 170k miles on when they gave up, also check the wear on your tyres, excessive wear on inside/outside will be a sign,

hope this helps
if you don't know where your going, any road will take you there
