Quite liking the look of the new S40

Volvo seem to be getting more confident in themselves, the badge seems to get bigger and bigger for every generation

Re: S40
I could have swore i seen that car at the balmoral show yesterday, volvo had the old s40 which still is a decent looking car, and the new s60 which looks like them pictures, its a very nice car. Will they still use ford engines/mechanicals under geeley ownership?

Re: S40
It's turned hatchback, and has a funky interior, no more T5 version, and it comes compete with a DTOM pack (Devalue The Old Model)
Old man's car? come on, really?
That thing has instantly turned mine into the Ugly Sister

My Dad's T5 made yours the Ugly sister
Hmm... not a fan of that yesterday. I'l wait for proper photos before I make a propper decision.
I really think the C30/S40/V50 are the nicest Volvos so far.
I'm am absolutley gutted my Dads is going next Monday. Will miss the 5 cylinder scream and the massive bulk of torque. It's the end of an era for me.
I will never ever be able to afford a car with more than 4 cylinders, by the time I could afford the insurance fuel prices will be so rediculous I still won't be able to afford it.
That will be the last big engined 4+ cylinder car that I will ever be able to jump in and drive when I want (within reason obviously).
Even my Dads gutted it's making way for essentially a 2.0 Diesel. Gutted

Theres a couple of "old" S40s in the car park, nice motors mind.FarmerPug wrote:I could have swore i seen that car at the balmoral show yesterday, volvo had the old s40 which still is a decent looking car, and the new s60 which looks like them pictures, its a very nice car. Went to Balmoral a couple of years ago and all they had in terms of motor stands was Massey Fergusons.
I'd imagine Subaru would've had a stand about 20 years ago.
Was towards the end of the night, fancied some dinner, the burger van was literally giving away burgers. Sitting there with a pile of burgers and right across is the barn with the cattle, this big cow looking at me
Nearly forgot the ketchup

Re: S40
I havent been to it in a few years but since its the last time its at the kings hall it was as good a reason as any to go. There was a few different car stands, peugeot had a new 208, and rcz (the 208 isn't a bad car to sit in), citroen had the berlingo, dispatch and then the ds4 and ds5 the two ds models are very nice cars but extremely pricey. Jaguar/Landrover was there even an aston thrown in. Then toyota, mitsubishi, and vw with their 4x4's.
The size of some of the cattle is shocking, some of the bulls the farmers walk around the fields is scary, a burger stand beside the cattle is a nice touch, they should put a KFC stand beside the chickens
