If it came to it, could I buy a late D9 with say a fecked engine, and put as many of my goodies onto it, and my engine into it?

Get a lowish mileage full-mux 2.2 - there's now a 200 bhp conversion for them.

You may have to accept a bit less than the £800 you mentioned, but I reckon someone would still buy yours
