You can wire up a switch to do the job of the key, just remove the immobilizer ring, and tape the chip out of the key onto it. It worked for that old clio i took apart.

The key is solid mate you carnt get the chip out of it,

the ignition barrel is made out of plastic ..good security on fiats huh :roll:

are you sure there is no metal ive never seen an ignition barrel made from
plastic

There is only asmall part of it that is metal,
the rest is plastic,

ijust gripped it with pair of big pliers and it snapped off
the steering lock just fell out theres not much to them, just afew levers and springs,

I see, wow i thought it was an exageration but it really is made of plastic :shock:
But i still think you can run it with a switch, cut the blade off the key, tape the plastic bit around the immobilizer ring, and sort out the wires at the back of the barrel to start the car, although it doenst make the car very secure.

igot a fresh one from breakers yard 20quid
not to bad of a job to fit

ive just got the old key taped up behind the dashboard now, Hardly secure so iwill wire up a cut out switch somewhere

seen two wires on the fuel pump that might do the trick
