Wi fi issues on my phone

Anyone good with smartphones on here? I've got an HTC Incredible S and I always use the wi fi to save data when I'm at home, but lately its been losing the signal and connecting and reconnecting several times until its stable, even when its right next to the router. The laptop has no problem keeping the signal and never drops out. I've noticed the phone struggles to pick up wi fi in the bedroom too, about 20 metres from the router.
