Other car Forums are rubbish !!!

I don't know that it actually grips or changes direction any better than the 6, but the steering and suspention feedback is just so awesomely communicative that you feel confident in pressing on where you'd back off in the 6. It's over 300 kg lighter, so it's easy to see where the advantage comes from.

There's less than 900 left on UK roads. there weren't many in the first place, and people buthcher them for the engines to stick 'em in poo-oh-fives, or turn them into track slags, so the number is decreasing rapidly. Mines generally reckoned to be the third best remaining example, but i'm aiming for no 1 with a big raft of refurbishemnt jobs. The rare Le mans, and even rarer T16 versions are the holy grail, even if they are now all but extinct.

NOT true.... the 405 had a solid rear axel where as the 406 has independant wishbones... you will find the 406 is an improvement on the 405... its called evolution / natural progression !

Nope, the 405 don't have a beam at the rear (a well set up beam can work well through keeping the rear wheers exactly perpendicular to the road) but has a semi independant trailing arm set up not that far removed from the fully independent jig on the 6.

I get to drive the Mi and the 6 daily, and they both handle pretty much on a par, which considering the 406s weight disadvantage is a fine testament, but whilst the 5 gives much better feel, the 6 gives a much better ride, so i just select the keys dependant on the type of journey i'm doing. sweet.

There's a pic currently on the PSOOC forum. go to the Mi16 register pages, find the subject 'how many members' or suimilar, and scroll down. It's the red one with reg ending in CVC. The lad leaning on it is the previous owner.

My Reg ends in CVC, that means we are cool yes it does.

My car was actually one of Peugeots own staff cars, the regional sales director for the Midlands, no really, it was!

I had my friend at the main dealer check out the warrenty history using the Reg and it had LOADS done under warrenty in the first 3 years because (apparently) he was a right fussy git. Still that makes me a better car though eh!!

I joined the Briskoda forum when I was toying with the idea of purchasing a Skoda Fabia vRS.

I still want one of those cars very much

Oh well.

I also registered with the MG Rover Forum when I had my Rover 214SLi, unitl i suffered from HGF.

Most members were all really friednly, but I agree in that some forums it is hard when you are a new member and there is always groups of people who have been registered for a long time etc...

This forum has been very friendly since day one for me....thats why I keep coming back.

Certain forums are addictable dont you think?

Am I the only person who thinks Skoda interiors are still vile? They seem as nasty as the old Skodas used to be, except with the worst parts of VW interiors (ie. the flat blandness) added...

Yeah, I had a cab ride home from town the one night and that was an Octavia. Never been in one before, but I thought it was pretty cheap and nasty inside.

And whilst we're on the subject, aren't VW interiors bloody boring. My sister's boyfreind has an S3 which is pretty nice inside, but the Golf, fair play it's dull!

Boring yes, but there's definitely a quality feel to them.

One of the worst things about Golfs of course is the location of the alarm siren - it's in the drivers footwell. Now that doesn't sound too bad, but combine it with an alarm which goes off 30 seconds after you open the door unless you turn the ignition on, and spending more than 30 seconds with your head in the drivers footwell trying to find the bonnet release lever... Ouch
